(Supported Training for Employment Placement)

The STEP program opened in November of 1992. It was the first 100% community based behavior management / vocational training day program in the bay area. STEP, (Supported Training for Employment Placement), was the second behavior management day program in
Marin County offering an alternative to the traditional site based day program.
  • A community based day program serving 25 individuals ages 22 and older.

  • Pledged to offer an assortment of social and recreational activities.

  • A solid focus on social and interpersonal skill development.

  • A sound behavioral component emphasizing a reduction of maladapted conduct.

  • Reinforces the utilization of work skills.

  • Paid work opportunities.

  • Prepares select individuals for Community Employment

  • Low client to staff ratio.

  • Primary funding by the Department of Developmental Services via the Golden Gate Regional Center system.
