Opportunity for Independence has jobs available throughout the year. When an opening exists, we notify our existing staff before advertising more widely.

Our positions range from Direct Service Staff to Senior Staff to Coordinators to Directors.

Direct Service Staff who work in our day programs need to have a valid drivers license as well as a clean driving record. Some of our day program positions require the staff person to drive his or her own vehicle, in which case, we reimburse them for the mileage they have incurred.

Experience is not necessary for our Direct Service Staff, though it is helpful.

All of our positions require staff to receive a fingerprint clearance, a first aid card, and a health and TB clearance.

All new staff are oriented and trained by Directors and Coordinators during their first week on the job. As well, new staff visit and observe all the other programs in the agency as part of this orientation. Upon completion of this first week of training, staff are then thoroughly trained in their program of hire.

Training does not stop after the first two weeks. All staff attends numerous in-service trainings throughout the year and our Behavioral Consultant attends each staff meeting at each program at least once a month.

If you are interested in working at OFI with adults with developmental disabilities, you are encouraged to contact Andrea Amsden, our Director of Human Resources by email at aamsden@ofiinc.org
